Sarah's Handmakes: knitwear design and sample knitting

Hello! My name is Sarah

I'm a knitter and knitwear designer based on the Front Range of Colorado. I live with my boyfriend and our two cats close to my hometown and our families. I work at a yarn dyer and will be starting my PhD in Health & Behavioral Sciences in August. I'm so excited that you're here!

My knitting story

I started knitting after I graduated with my Master's degree in 2022. After working full time and going to school, I was looking for something to do in my evenings. So, I picked up a pair of knitting needles and made a seamed cardigan with twisted purl stitches

After my first project, I fell in love with knitting and have knit every day since. I started posting videos about my knitting in 2023 and have really enjoyed meeting people around the world and connecting over a shared love of knitting.

I started sample knitting for various yarn dyers in 2023 and designing knitwear patterns in 2024. I'm so happy to be sharing my knitting online, designing patterns, and working with others to show off their yarn or patterns. Thanks so much for following along!
